How can I write a fictional diary account of life during the holocaust?

i need to write a diary of a jewish child/teen who lived during the holocaust - the expireriences they had and how they felt about it. i'm not sure what plot line to use or what i should think of including.


any suggestions would be helpfull as would references of similar texts that i could refer to.

There are volumes of work on the history of the Holocaust, many of them written from the author's personal experience. Actually, any book describing the events would be beneficial as it would add necessary background to your work.
Reply:Anne Frank, of course. Check out Eli Wiesel, he's written extensively on it.





I would just use a history book, though. Pick a country...say Poland. We know when Germany invaded. We know concentration camps there and their process of getting people there. It was very methodical. Now, just think of a kid...a random boy member of a random Jewish family and how his life was altered so quickly, probably separated from family, and if he survived...what was life like during and after the war.
