How do I copy data from one user account to another on Windows XP Pro?

Easy directions to move all of my data to another user profile would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
How do I copy data from one user account to another on Windows XP Pro?
The easiest way is to use the File and Settings Transfer Wizard. While logged in as you, Start%26gt; All Programs %26gt; Accessories %26gt; System Tools %26gt; File and Settings Transfer Wizard. Follow the prompts in the wizard, using your account as the 'old computer', and choosing "Files only" on the appropriate page. When it asks where to store, pick a flash drive if you have one, otherwise select a folder on your hard drive (create one if you want just for this purpose). When it's done, log into the other user, open the wizard there as the 'New computer' and let it gather the files and put them in their correct locations.
Reply:In the admin. account go to windows explorer, click on the plus next to mycomputer it will show your HD ususally local disk, click plus then click plus on documents and settings, click on the user account that the files are in and click on the file go to edit and copy to file a pop up will come up then find where you want to copy the file click on it and then clik copy.
Reply:If you are Admin just copy over the files into correct folders

ie. C:\Documents and Settings\XXXXXXXX\My Documents

into C:\Documents and Settings\YYYYYY\My Documents

hop that helps

Is it possible to delete an xbox live account and start over with the same information?

My brother just created a new xbox live account, but he messed up when choosing his gamertag. He accidentally selected one of the suggested tags instead of going back to the creation screen to pick his own.

He's now stuck with a really awful gamertag. Is it possible to delete this one, and start over, or do we have to pay the ten bucks to fix it?

Also, if we delete this account, will all his game saves be deleted?

Thanks for the help, my poor brother is really upset.

Why is craigslist asking me to start an account to list items?

I've listed many things in the past but when I recently tried, it told me to set up an account. After doing this it said it needs to authenticate my account by phone.
Why is craigslist asking me to start an account to list items?
This is a new way for craigslist to cut down on spam and scammers. Whether it works or not is still up for discussion, however most likely you are being asked to add an account and verify because you have several listings already online.

What does transfering money to your credit card account do?

Obviously you pay off a credit card bill with a check or using bill pay through your bank. I have a credit card account through Wells Fargo, and I notice that when I choose to transfer money from my checking account to one of my other Wells Fargo accounts, I can transfer it to my savings as well as my credit card account. What happens when I transfer money to my credit card account? I did not know you can do such a thing. Is that for stashing cash away so I have money come bill paying time?
What does transfering money to your credit card account do?
It just pays your balance. It is for convience.
Reply:no it will actually count as a payment

I do it all the time with my Citibank and Chase accounts

How does interest work on a money market account?

I was thinking about opening a money market account with a lcoal bank who offerse a 3month special rate of 5%. Does that mean I get 5% interest each month for the balance in the account?
How does interest work on a money market account?
This means you have to keep the money in the account for a minimum of 3 months in order to get 5% interest. After 3 months the rate probabily falls back to something lower, most likely around 3-4.5%.

Make sure you read all the fine prints. There might be penalty or really low interest rate if you withdraw early.

I suspect that the 5% rate is an annual rate. If you deposit $1000 into this money market account, at the end of the 3rd month you will have $1004.17.

Also note that interest from money market account will be in the bottom Divident section of your Schedule B, rather than Interest section.
Reply:You get 5% PER YEAR.

The rate is valid for only 3 months, after that it will be a lower rate.
Reply:5% is the APR (Annual Percentage Rate). So, the total return for 3 months is 1.25%. However, since it is a CD, so, you will be locked in and if you decide to take your money out before the end of the term, you will have to pay a penalty. Currently, I think you can get 4.4% from ING direct, 5.05% from HSBC Direct and 5.0% from Citi direct ... and all those are regular accounts i.e. you can withdraw anytime.
Reply:You're describing a short-term certificate of deposit, not a money-market account. And, no, you do not get 5% per month. Your rate is 5% annually. Over the 3-month period, you will actually receive a total of 1.25% interest on your deposit.

So, if you deposit $1000, you will have about $1012.50 in your account at the end of 3 months.
Reply:I'm not too sure cuz I don't understand but I'm guessing it means if you open up a money market account you'll get 5% interest for the first 3 months (5% each month) and then it will go back to the normal % rate it is.

If you have money sitting in a savings account earning interest, do you have to pay quarterly estimated taxes?

If not, can a person collect interest on their money all year long and just pay taxes on the interest at the beginning of the following year? Does it matter the amount? What if a person has ten million dollars sitting in an account earning interest?
If you have money sitting in a savings account earning interest, do you have to pay quarterly estimated taxes?
If you expect to have a tax liability over $1,000 that is not covered by withholding, then you are supposed to pay estimated taxes.

If you earn enough interest to owe $1,000 in taxes on the interest, you should send in estimated tax payments.
Reply:It depends on how much interest you're getting. If you had $10,000,000 in your account, then yes you should.

At tax time, if you don't have most of your taxes already paid, you can be penalized for under-withholding.
Reply:If your total tax liability is expected to exceed $1,000, you must make quarterly estimated payments.
Reply:ask this in business %26amp; finance (taxes)
Reply:no, only at the end of the year it's not road tax.
Reply:If you have enough to leave 10 million in a savings account then you know you need to pay quarterly. If it is just a piddly amount like 1 or 2 thousand, then unless you have a lot of other taxes that need to be paid quarterly, the IRS will probably not go after you if you pay annually. Just be sure to declare the interest and pay.
Reply:no, but you do have to pay income tax on iit-you will get a 1099 form for the irs

What is the best bank with a checking account that has "no minimum balance required"?

I need a bank that offers free checking account with no minimum balance. I used to bank with WaMu but their security and service was unsatisfying so i closed my account. Wachovia I might consider but I don't know if they are trustworthy. Any suggestions?
What is the best bank with a checking account that has "no minimum balance required"?
Try searching on http://www.bankaround.com. You can search by how much money you have to put in the bank and it'll return you a list of banks and accounts.

WAMU does have a nice free checking account with a high interest earning savings account as well. What was so bad about WAMU?
Reply:WaMu seems to give good direct service from branches that are left, but good luck if you have to deal with their headquarters. In June I accidentally put the wrong date on a check deposited in an ATM for my checking account on a Sunday, and they called me first thing Monday to tell me. That gave me a chance to give them a corrected check.

But trying to straighten out initial property tax payments from escrow for a double lot in 2002 is too long a story to relate here.

As long as you pay your bills, it can help to have checking where you have credit card(s) you use the most.

I have only been with Chase since they bought BankOne, and many of the people at the branches I deal with have been at my local branches under different bank names for 20 years. I switched from interest checking to free checking when my IRA CD expired and I transferred that to a broker, and have no complaints.

With Chase checking you can pay Chase credit cards online same day before 7 PM, other credit cards within 2 days. WaMu electronic bill pay says to allow 5 days, although, that will likely happen quicker in most cases. I do split direct deposit to both accounts (WaMu to autopay my home loan).

How to pay/fund Paypal account from verified Paypal to another verified account?

I recently started a Paypal account to pay someone around $2000 funded by my creditcard. I have just verified it today but it is still blocking my payment. Apparently I cannot use the creditcard at the time and I have to try again later. I have managed to transfer some money in a smaller amount over. Paypal is now saying 'Authorization Failed' for future transfers. Apparently this is because my account is new and they think it is suspicious.

Are there any other ways from other Payment processors that can take my creditcard payment and then deposit the amount to the designated Paypal account?

Creditcard has been confirmed by my Bank to be correct and working. My Paypal is enrolled in the 'Expanded Use Program' and is a Verified account. Paypal backed by Creditcard as Paypal do not provide Bank funding option for NZ'ers.

Both paying and receiving ends of the payments have their accounts located in New Zealand.
How to pay/fund Paypal account from verified Paypal to another verified account?
If it is saying that the authorization failed you may want to check with your bank again. Some cards have less than a $1000 limit per day. Most cards are at the $2000.00 limit. However I am willing to bet that your paypal account block the transaction. If your normal payments sending and receiving have been fairly low and you are now sending a $2000 payment paypal has probably blocked your payment due to a possible fraud risk. This would be because of a spike in your buying pattern.

How do I find out if a bank account has been opened in my name?

I was just trying to open an account online and the site said I already have an account with that bank.
How do I find out if a bank account has been opened in my name?
Find the MAILING address for the bank. It should be on the website somewhere. Look for "Contact Us". Send a Certified letter explaining that the website states you have an account, but you are not aware of the account. Request documentation of the account. They will probably request proof that you are who you claim to be. If the bank has a branch you can visit, walk in and talk to someone in person.

What happens to the money in a bank account when its holder dies without writing a will?

It depends. If the account is known, then it will be counted among the deceased assets and divided up according to applicable law. If the account isn't known, then after a certain period of time the bank will consider the account abandoned and turn over its funds to the state.
What happens to the money in a bank account when its holder dies without writing a will?
it belong to the bank ok except if the person is a god fearear he or she we know what do is either he or she return the money back to the family of the person ok. thank u that is all.

I suppose the money goes to the closest relative the bank can find. And even to the only relative they can find.
Reply:All assets become part of the estate. Probate court will appoint an administrator who will pay any outstanding bills, advertise for any creditors to come forward, sell any real property and handle any other business of the deceased. If there is any money left, it will be distributed to relatives in the order prescribed by state law.

How can I find out how old an account on my credit report is?

I pulled my credit report from all three bureaus today. On Equifax there is an account listed for a collection agency and all the information it lists is that is in an open account, the high balance, past due amount and that the account is 120 days past due. Then I noticed on all three reports there is an account that was for a credit card I opened in May of 1997. I vaguely remember this but the account is listed as closed and I believe I defaulted on (youthful mistake!). My question is this - how can I find out if the two accounts are related? And how can I determine how long they have been on my report?
How can I find out how old an account on my credit report is?
You call the collection agency and ask them about the account. Demand they send you validation of the debt.

At this point, it's past the statute of limitations to collect, most likely, so do NOT ever say to them that you accept or acknowledge that the debt is yours. And do NOT send in any type of partial payment, as this will start the statute of limitations clock over again.

But the only way to see what the debt is, is to simply call and ask.
Reply:They have been there since the company you defaulted on decided to collect %26amp; sent your account to a collection agency. You need to worry about fixing the problem and getting the "youthful mistake" off your record. Better late than never!

Here's a link to some facts. It might help you in deciding how best to clear this matter up.
Reply:it tells you right on the credit report when the account was opened, the last activity, the account number, the lender and their phone number, just call the phone number, it will be an 800 number and they will answer your questions
Reply:Look for the date of 1st delinquency on your Equifax credit report. That is the date that the account was charged off, and also the date that starts the 7 year reporting clock. The other credit reporting bureaus might show something like "Reported Since", which might give you a clue as to when the account started being listed on your reports.

Is it possible to start a savings account for a fetus?

My mom is in NewYork and she wants to go to her local bank and start my baby a savings account. Is this possible being that the baby isn't here yet?
Is it possible to start a savings account for a fetus?
no you need a ss number but she can put it on ur name now and then you can add him/hr on.
Reply:Sure. Not a problem. Initially she may want it to be under her name, and simply change the name it's under after the baby's born, etc. But, you can start a savings account for anyone you'd like. My grandparents bought all of their grandchildren cds that would fully develop on our eighteenth birthdays as soon as they found out my mom was pregnant each time - fantastic graduation gifts.
Reply:Hmm.... I dunno. But, perhaps she can start one in her name first, then when the baby is born, transfer it to the baby's name?

I imagine there'd be a lot of paperwork and identity issues involved, but it'd be possible. I'm assuming after the baby is born, though.

Perhaps you could get a free consultation with a lawyer, to be sure.

Good luck! And, congrats on the little one!
Reply:Yes absolutely! Mom can start the account in her name and when baby is born change it to the babys name. Another option that mom can do is buy US bonds in babys name when baby arives. They take time to mature, but are worth having in the futre. Don't forget to thank mom for thinking about babys financial future!
Reply:I started one but just put it in my name until my son is born and has a social security number. I think the bank need a SSN to put his information on the account.
Reply:Not a problem, she will have to put it into your name until the fetus becomes an infant, this question is so cute, made me laugh!
Reply:yep she can put it in her name or your name and then have it go to your baby when it is say 16 or 18 or 21! She can just start it in her name, once your child is born add the childs name to it and go from there!

How to close my questions and answers account?
Hello Warren..

First don't do it.....!!!!! I know the felling very well ..when your efforts are cast by the side...I know that first hand ..I also have been through the " how do i get my name off of here response" and all i can say is hang in there not everyone has that opinion..I read every answer and question you ask ,,Most of the time they are questions that I have some information on and sometimes not . Overall though i would say your abilities in Electrical/Electronics are better than a lot of peoples and they just don't have the tech skills to answer. I have read your answers and like a lot of people they interject into the answer a lot themselves and when people don't get rhetoric for what it is well, that's their problem ..so if i were you i would overlook it. Removing yourself is very easy its only a click of a button in the right screen but from this reader/answerer the instructions will not come. Please re-think this a valuable technician is worthy of a say and who are they to cross you out. If its for candor well we all qualify for an exit,,,if its for mistakes , here to our path leads to the cancel button. Just let this slip by and answer another and do what you do best...no matter what that is.......Insight has shown that sooner or later everyone feels this way ,its just your turn......From the E...Merry Christmas

So, pound on the walls and make some noise. You are needed.

Although we probably dissagree more than agree, I have found some worthwhile "common ground" and intelligent, clever wit in many of your responses..only those who would "besmirch" a respectable thinker, should be considered "throw away" person NOT the one they trash. consider this, who could deny a baby's "day one" as being a "clean slate" a product of all others from that point on? Now stack "all who ever were", and "will ever be" upon that same moment, and we are all the same person right? Its like we are all the same person, looking out of different eyeballs....and since time doesn't actually exist, could really be the same person caught in an infideminsional loop, and you wouldn't know it. So take it in stride, don't let anyone push you off this human thing we all do DaMnMiT, cause this forum is where those inconsiderate, "stiff necked" insolent ones, are being forced to "EVOLVE" by us high sincerity rating ones, we need all of you humans out there, to keep on, with deeper understandings, advancing towards "team human populate the universe" because thats the logical peaceful path..we won't land in better containers than human forms, if we screw this one up. How can I write a fictional diary account of life during the holocaust?
There are volumes of work on the history of the Holocaust, many of them written from the author's personal experience. Actually, any book describing the events would be beneficial as it would add necessary background to your work.
Reply:Anne Frank, of course. Check out Eli Wiesel, he's written extensively on it.

I would just use a history book, though. Pick a country...say Poland. We know when Germany invaded. We know concentration camps there and their process of getting people there. It was very methodical. Now, just think of a kid...a random boy member of a random Jewish family and how his life was altered so quickly, probably separated from family, and if he survived...what was life like during and after the war.

What is the difference between a merchant account and a payment gateway?

I'm a new'be in web and I pretend to setup my online store. The question I have is ... What is the difference between a merchant account and a payment gateway? and why do a merchant would require any of those services?
What is the difference between a merchant account and a payment gateway?
A merchant account simply allows you to accept credit card payments and a payment gateway authenticates and authorizes individual credit card transactions.

Both are necessary if you're setting up an online store and want to accept credit card payments. Some merchant accounts include the payment gateway, but most don't.
Reply:A merchant account allows you to take card payments. Some online processing services require you to have a merchant account to put card transactions through.

However the 3rd party payment gateway typically acts as a "middle man" removing the need for you to have your own merchant account to process transactions.

There are a number of distinct advantages to using gateway services particulalry when it comes to lower volume transactions. These are things such as reduced cost of implementation, security and PCI can be negated.
Reply:Basically, both allow you to accept credit cards as payment, however the payment gateway allows you to view individual charges online (usually payment gateways are suitable for ecommerce businesses).

Usually, a merchant account includes a payment gateway. If you sign up you should find one that includes the gateway. Check out this site for more info. or as an example: http://www.groupbankcard.com

Can a bank withdraw funds from an account I have at a different bank to pay an overdue loan?
They can't take it from another bank account unless you provide them with that information. However, you need to find a quick way to pay the mortgage before the bank calls in the loan. In other words, they can demand all the remaining mortgage you owe on the house and if you can't come up with it, they could start foreclosure proceedings. Good luck.

How can I start a flexable spending account or a spousal IRA?

Can I start a flexable spending account for my family or an spousal IRA for my wife at this point in the year, if so where would be the best place to set up such an account.

Thanks
How can I start a flexable spending account or a spousal IRA?
The FSA is only if your employer offers one. These usually require you to signup in December of the prior year.

A spousal IRA, subject to income limits, can be set up at your local bank or online at say, Schwab, Fidelity, Vanguard, T Rowe Price, etc.
Reply:If your spouse qualifies for a spousal IRA, she should open the account herself. "Spousal" does not mean that you open the account on her behalf. She is the account owner.

She can go to any bank and open an IRA CD account, or any of the mutual fund companies will open an account for her.

The FSA is not an option for you unless your employer offers it.

How can I close a credit card account and pay it off?

I have not used this card in years yet with all of the fees and what-have-yous it is becoming a monster. Beside going through a debt consolidation program are there other choices for closing the account and paying it off?
How can I close a credit card account and pay it off?
Use telephone.

Call credit card company.

Pay off account.

Close account.
Reply:Well first you have to have a zero balance so pay off the balance

Then you call the company and tell them to close it and send you a letter in the mail to confirm its closed
Reply:I believe you have to pay it off first and then close it out, however you may call them and find out more details.

You just pay the minimum +10% and thats the best and fastest way to pay it down if you dont have the funds to pay it off.

another idea is to get a no nterest loan or low interest loan from a family member and pay it off then pay your family member back
Reply:You do not have to pay off a credit card to close the account. Simply call the 800 number and tell them to close the account request a letter to verify it and then you just continue to pay them as usual.
Reply:Phone the credit card company ask them to cancel your card and continue to make the payments, try to add a little more than the monthly amount owed. Until you pay it off. if you have a credit card with a high interest rate try to transfer the balance to another card with a low intro rate for the longest amount of time. Cancel after your fist payment and continue making payments until it is all paid.
Reply:They're not going to close it for you they're very smart you have to pay them first then they'll close it for you. It happened to me i never use my credit card for years but i had few dollars left just serves charge they didn't close my account. I had to pay them first then they closed it.
Reply:Well, in effect you've closed the account if you aren't using the card, it's just that they are still charging you for officially having an open account. You can't really close it until it's paid off but it sounds like you're making minimum payments on a high balance. You should see if you can get a credit card with a low interest rate, even 0%, and transfer the debt so you can get rid of it easier. Once you have transferred the debt and have the old card at 0.00 you can close it. They will try to keep you on as a customer for sure, so just be ready to tell them no, and they might even offer you a great rate to stay a customer. With CC companies, you have to play them just like they are ready to play you, but you only get the advantage when you have the dollar figures under control.

I suppose they might let you close the account with a balance, you'd have to ask them.

What is the best type of savings account to open for a child?

I am thinking starting a savings or investment account for my 3 year old son. I would start it with $500 and contribute $30 per month into the account. I was thinking of opening up an account on Scottrade and doing long term bonds or opening up a high interst rate savings account. Any suggestions or thoughts on what may be my best options?
What is the best type of savings account to open for a child?
Sharebuilder will let you buy stock for a child. This is a great way to start a child's savings. Scottrade probably has something similiar. You set up your account as a Custodian Account.

http://www.sharebuilder.com/about_us/new...

The ShareBuilder Custodial Account is an investment account created for the benefit of a minor. Custodial accounts are opened under the Uniform Transfer to Minors Act (UTMA), or the Uniform Gift to Minors Act (UGMA) of your respective state. The minor is the owner of the account and its assets. However, a custodian must manage the account until the minor reaches the age of distribution in accordance with the laws of the state under which the account was established. Earnings (up to a certain amount) will be taxed at the minor's rate.

Note: State laws may restrict who can open a custodial account. Please consult a financial advisor for additional information on custodial account restrictions and tax reporting questions. Also, there can only be one minor and one custodian for each ShareBuilder custodial account.

On another note, have you looked into a high yield savings or money market account? You can compare rates by state or overall (to include online banks) here: http://www.bankrate.com/brm/rate/brm_mma...

The best rate near me (Alabama) is 5.36 (APY) at AmTrust. The overall best rate is through Geauga Savings Bank Newbury, OH but you have to have $25,000 to open an account! AmTrust is also the next highest overall bank.

I like the high yield savings / money market account better than a stock plan. Good luck!
Reply:If this is your money saving for college, then a 529 plan would be best. That way the money is still yours if your kid decides not to go to college. The money accumulates tax free.

If this is his money, some banks have passbook savings for kids (no fees, and small interest accumulation) that are good for teaching about banking. I would not put much in this type of account
Reply:open an american funds college america account!! : )
Reply:Buy a mutual fund that is moderately aggressive for $2,500.00 and just let it sit.
Reply:Depends what the money is going to be used for later.

if its for college - open up a 529account so you can get the tax benefits

if its just for him in the future, get the highest interest money market account you can get, invest til you have a substantial amount, then put into a CD. Problem with a CD is you cannot add to it month by month.

You also might want to look into getting bonds. Savings bonds, T bonds etc...
Reply:If you are saving for college you can open a 529 account, where you can invest the money. However the money grows tax-free, whereas you'll be paying capital-gain taxes on alternatives.
Reply:You would get the best rate on a CD. There are some great ones for college savings. I would check some local banks to get some rates.
Reply:how about a pension fund that you can pass on too him at 18. Small amounts over 60 years is better than large over 40!
Reply:etrade.com offers %26gt; 5.00% interest on a savings account. FDIC insured.

Money market. Or a savings account not at a bank but with an investment house such as ING.

What is the point of $1 being transferred to my savings account from my checking account?

Whenever I make a purchase with my debit card, $1 gets transferred over to my savings account. What is the purpose of this, and what does it do?
What is the point of $1 being transferred to my savings account from my checking account?
Sounds like you are on some kind of program to make automatic transfers to savings based on each debit transaction you make out of checking. If you aren't aware of why you are on this program, you need to get with your bank and find out why, and unenroll if it's not the kind of automatic savings plan you want.

Bank of America has a similar plan, it's called "Keep The Change".

Every purchase you make under the 'even dollar' amount makes the "change" from that transaction go to your savings account. You end up with debit transactions that are in whole dollar amounts.

Sounds similar to what you have going on with a slightly different twist.

How would I set up a checking account for a club or fraternity?

I was appointed treasurer of my fraternity for next year, and I need to figure out how I would go about setting up a checking account. What kind of checking account would I be able to set up, and what would I need to do so? Thanks.
How would I set up a checking account for a club or fraternity?
Visit a local bank branch and discuss your needs with a personal banker. S/He will be happy to help you find an account that best suits your needs. If your organization is non-profit, make sure you get a checking account with no fees. Also, you'll probably want to make sure that you and another person are listed on the account and checks require two signatures (keeps fingers out of the pot).
Reply:simple... just go to a local bank and tell the teller what it is you want and she should be able to help you... now if you are talking about big money than that is a different story.
Reply:Go to a bank and set one up. They will have the proper forms to start a NFP organizationaccount

What are important things to take into account while planning a benefit concert?

I am looking to plan a benefit for the National MS Society in April of 2009. We have a concert hall venue tentatively setup and we are currently recruiting volunteers to help with the rest of the planning. What major things do we need to focus on to make sure this benefit concert is a success?

Having a little experience working on benefits, the biggest mistake I have found is failing to advertise the event properly. Get the word out, no people, no donations.

I think the others misinterpreted your question. What they are saying is correct in that you can't transfer points from one account to another.

However, you can change the email address that your Y!A related emails are sent to, which l think is what you're asking. Go into your profile. Go to where it says 'Edit my profile'. Then there's a place where it lets you add a new email address.

How do I switch my cell phone account to another phone?

I have two cell phones. One is active, the other isnt. They are both through the same provider. How do I go through and switch my account to the other phone?
How do I switch my cell phone account to another phone?
that depends on who your service provider is. if you have a provider that uses sim cards and both phones are of the same provider just put the active phone's sim card in the non active one. if you dont have sim cards then you can call your provider and bring it to one of their locations and they will deactivate your working one and reactivate the non working one and they might be able to let you keep the same number. my sister has sprint and she did that today. remember if you are switching sim cards to turn the phone off first then remove the battery cover to get it out it should be underneath the battery. never open your phone when it is on

How do you set up a parent account for webkinz and what are the Kinzchat Plus hours?

Do any parents know how you can set up the account where you can unblock Kinzchat Plus? My daughter, who is 11, plays webkinz and asked me if I could let her into the Kinzchat Plus. I already did the email confirmation, but now I need to unblock it.

And does anyone know if there are certain hours to Kinzchat Plus?
How do you set up a parent account for webkinz and what are the Kinzchat Plus hours?
The definitive answer you are looking for is here. To unblock KinzChat Plus (KCP), from the home page (www.webkinz.com), click on the PARENT'S AREA button near the bottom right-hand corner of the page. From the next page, click on MANAGE KINZCHAT PLUS ACCESS. On the next page, scroll to the very bottom of the page and click the green button that says UNBLOCK. Voila !!

Ganz Corp. keeps very strict corporate hours. Because KCP is monitored by humans, the hours of operation are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST, Monday to Friday and closed on weekends.
Reply:Well on my computer the webkinz site people took out the Kinzchat plus clubhouse! It may be one on yours to but I'm not to sure there are any hours! You have to put in your e-maial adress and put in a parents password and read the rules of letting your child in the clubhouse!
Reply:I'm pretty sure that you can NOT unblock it anyhow. I'm pretty sure the Ganz company does that. I don't think that there are certain hours that the kinzchat plus is on. Good luck though!!
Reply:yes go into parent's area and click mange kinzchat plus Access and then just go down to the bottom and click whatever.

Reply:What are Webkinz? I hear so much about them but no nothing. Is it like Neopets? I've heard people say their so small, they wouldn't have spent that much money on them.

I am trying to start human service agency that will be self funded. How can I ask for donations via paypal?
How can people donate to a paypal account, if you are starting an organization that helps people ?
You just need to have a Paypal account and give your Paypal address to anyone who wants to send you money.

For a good example, take a look at any well known Web comic. The artists who draw those comics typically have a Paypal button on their site that people can click on to give them money. If you have a Web site, you could do something like that. Otherwise, you'll just have to tell people what your Paypal address is.

(The one thing you CANNOT do is claim that the donations they give you are going to be tax deductible. They're not.)

Can I start a 503b Tax deferred account while working part-time and already collecting Social Sec. benefits?

Uhhh... Section 503(b) applies to bankruptcies. There's no such thing as a "503(b) tax deferred account."

And section 403(b) applies to certain educational organizations and non-profits so that wouldn't apply to you either.

You could set up a traditional IRA if you are under age 70.5, but that's probaby about it.

Are good tailors supposed to take into account the way pants are going to fit you when sitting?

I should start off that I am male -- It seems that all of my dress pants (and some jeans) always feel too tight in the crotch when I sit.

I'm thinking that pants can't have a crotch too big or the pants will look weird...? What are some fashion tips or remedies for this problem?
Are good tailors supposed to take into account the way pants are going to fit you when sitting?
Not wanting to be funny, but how exactly do you sit? I often find that the posture of a person affects the way the clothes fit. Try pulling them down on the legs slightly before you sit down. I know that's a girly thing to do...but it may work.

If not, find yourself a really good tailor. A good tailor is like a good hairdresser...they will make the most of what you have and make you look fabulous. Try looking in the Yellow Pages and ask around...reputation is a good place to start. It is kind of tricky to add fabric..nigh impossible...so I would suggest having a chat with a tailor about what it is you want and then they will most likely say to buy your trousers slightly too big and then they can take them in...it's not cheap, but if it looks better/feels more comfortable clearly worth every penny!

How do I find out my bank account number for the purposes of direct deposit?

The other option you have if you're waiting on checks, is to go to your bank and ask them for something on bank letterhead that states the bank's routing and account numbers. Your employer needs both of those to establish your direct deposit, so that would be the quickest way to do it.

If you already have the Routing Number, then just go into the bank with your ID or License and ask for your Account Number, because you haven't received your checks yet.
How do I find out my bank account number for the purposes of direct deposit?
If you look at one of your checks or one of your preprinted deposit slips, at the bottom will be a string of numbers. The first set of numbers is the ABA number which identifies the bank. The second set of numbers is your account number. The third set of numbers (on your check) would be the check number.
Reply:Call your bank. They will generally ask you several security questions and then give it to you or just go in with ID and ask. Not hard.
Reply:It is on your checks (2nd set of #'s) or contact your bank directly.

What happens when you overdraw your checking account and the accocunt is closed by the bank for inactivity?

This is my first time opening a checking account. My question is what would happen if my account were to have been overdrawn and remained so for many months, and finally the bank decided to close the account because it was inactive? Does the bank still try and send for their money or does the charges just go away? Will it effect me opening another account with a different financial institution?
What happens when you overdraw your checking account and the accocunt is closed by the bank for inactivity?
There are two seperate answers to this question.

One is the bank and the other is the merchants.

If you bounce checks and do not pay the checks and the fees, the bank will close your account. Then they will either go after you for the amount that you owe them in fees or overdrawn checks that they have paid, or hire a collection agency. There could be a possiblity of being sued over it.

For the bounced checks that you wrote to a merchant, if the merchant cannot get paid they will turn it over to your states district attorney.

Then, depending on your state, you can be facing a stiff fine and/or prison time.

Both the bank and the merchants may be listed as negatives on your credit reports for 7 years which will make it difficult to get credit, to get decent rates on credit etc.

Plus, you will be listed on ChexSystems for 5 years and it will be difficult to get another checking account.

So, take very good care of your checking account. Make sure you enter everything in it every day and that you balance it out every month when you get your statement.
Reply:u owe the bank, and if u dont pay it goes into collections.
Reply:It will definitely affect you when trying to open accounts elsewhere....you now have a bad mark on your credit history....

I suggest you make good on the overdraw, plus fees and penalties I am certain the bank assessed. And ask that the bank please report this on your credit.

As for the bank just writing it off, depends on how much it is and how much you are financially worth.

Take care to be more mindful in the future, dear one. Good luck!
Reply:Yes, the bank still wants their money back and this has likely been reported on your credit report. You will not find it too easy to open a future bank account. Only in a dream-world would a debt just "go away" ........... be responsible and own up to this and pay it back; save yourself a mountain of grief!
Reply:You will not be able to get credit or a new account. Everything goes on your credit report and no bank will want you.
Reply:A bank will not close and forget an account that is overdrawn. They will freeze it and can take legal action against you to get their money and it will definately affect your credit rating. Bring the balance back up to $0.00 and then close it.

Is credit card debt considered an open account or a written contract?

I live in the State of Georgia and am being sued over an old credit card that I defaulted on. It has been more than 4 years but less than 6 years since the date of default, so depending on whether credit card debt is considered an open account or a written contract in the State of Georgia, the Statute of Limitations may or may not apply. The Staute of Limitations is 4 years for open accounts and 6 years for written contracts. Does anyone know for certain which type applies for credit card debt in Georgia? The account is with Citibank MasterCard and was opened in the late 80's or early 90's. Thanks.
Is credit card debt considered an open account or a written contract?
Spiff! Man you are starting to disappoint me something terrible!

The definition of a "written" contact is one where all of the payment issues are completely spelled out. The monthly payments, the timeframe, everything.

An "open" or "revolving" credit line does not fall into this catagory because the terms of the agreement change every month. One month you owe $200, and the next you owe $400.....and each month you have a varying amount of payment. You can pay it off, and then run it right back up again....that's why they call it a 'revolving" line of credit.

This is also clearly spelled out in the US UCC codes, and many states specifically label credit card debts as open accounts.

Georgia is one state that specifically labels credit cards as NOT being a written contract. Please refer to the link below.

Once again....poor answers with no source of information cause a lot of damage here on Yahoo. If they don't provide you with a source for further examination it's best not to believe it.
Reply:it's a written contract, that's why you sign a rather lengthy terms %26amp; conditions declaration when you take out the credit card - read the small print
Reply:Sorry man, but it's a written contract.

Remember that long piece of paper you signed that said terms and conditions?

How much money is in your checking account right now?

I know this is a nosy question, and NO I am not interested in stealing it from you people even if I knew how, which I don't. I am just curious how high you let the balance get before you transfer some to savings, assuming of course that you have a savings account. Please feel free to round to the nearest even sum. Mine is about $2,500 dollars at the moment but I have many bills to pay soon.
How much money is in your checking account right now?
i got about 30k. i'd strut around acting like Thornton Mellon, except i have huge expenses that have to be paid such as house repairs my HOA is bitching about, the gas-saving car i "gave" my girlfriend for xmas but still haven't bought, and paying for a vacation coming up in august. oh there is also solarizing my house -- that alone is at least 20k. fuggit
Reply:Totally depends on your expenditure. Its ok to have about 10k in checking and put rest in savings. When savings reaches about 100k+, take some out and put other places (its not really a good investment to put more than 100k in savings)
Reply:I just gave my last $1 to the 700 Club.
Reply:I have an Orange savings account for which is extracted from my checking account - I tell them how much to extract and how often - once a month, twice a month, etc.

Your question is quite general - some will be able to save immediately, others will have to wait - I just don't understand why you asked such a question - is there a point to this?

What are the minimum account balance for setting up a trading account on etrade?

I want to setup a trading account on etrade but it seems kind of hard to find a basic trading account for someone that wants to invest and trade a small amount. I saw one min of 2k and then one of 10k and one of 50k but can't tell what accounts those fall under.
What are the minimum account balance for setting up a trading account on etrade?
Actually, I just opened a basic account with ETrade with a balance of $200. Give them a call and they can explain the basic account differences to you. Just be aware that with low account balances, the trade commissions are rather high (I'm paying $9.99 per trade right now). Good luck!
Reply:I just Signed up with Scott Trade. Only $500.00 minimum to open a cash account without margin's or options, which If your like me, aren't worried about right now. Hope I helped you.

Reply:* How to Delete a Yahoo! Answers (And E-mail) Account *

Hi

I only know of one way. Get your account suspended. Suspending means your away from a period of time, but on Y!A you are deleted, forever. Say mean things, inappropriate things, chat, breaking anything and everything in the Terms of Service and Community Guide Lines, and you will be removed, and no one will be able to access your account because it does not exist.

Now, to erase your E-MAIL ADDRESS, do not sign in or log in for three or four weeks. After this period of time, Yahoo! thinks you have abandoned it and you are not using it, so they are going to clear their database and erase it, so you can't log in, no body can e-mail you, chat with you, and everything that is associated with your account will not be recieved.

But if you don't allow anyone to add you as a Contact and make your Q%26amp;A Private to the Public, then no one can see anything in your profile, other than your information (which is located under your avatar in your profile) and how many Best Answers and how many Others you have on the side bar on the right side of the screen.

You can make your Q%26amp;A Private and edit it so no one can add you as a Contact is to edit your information. You can make your Q%26amp;A Private by:

My Profile %26gt; Edit My Info %26gt; Yahoo! Answers Network %26gt; On my public profile, hide my Q%26amp;A from people who are not my Contacts (check this) %26gt; On my public profile, only show my Answers Network to my Contacts (also check this %26gt; Preview %26gt; OK

To allow no one to add you as a Contact, do this:

My Profile %26gt; Edit My Info %26gt; Yahoo! Answers Network %26gt; Allow other Answers users to be my fan. ( do NOT check this) %26gt; Preview %26gt; OK

To delete your avatar:

My Profile %26gt; Edit My Information %26gt; Picture %26gt; No Picture (it's a gray head) %26gt; Preview %26gt; OK

To delete all of your Fans/Contacts:

My Profile %26gt; My Network %26gt; Remove

To change your name:

My Profile %26gt; Edit My Info %26gt; Nickname %26gt; Choose what you want %26gt; Preview %26gt; OK

All of these steps above ( ^ ) will help you erase everything, your account, all of your information, your e-mail, basically everything that exists with your Yahoo! Account. But I gave you ways so you don't have to go all out and delete your e-mail, that's your choice.

Dicko is right. I am astonished. I did not think he listened to me. Whiteys generally do not. Perhaps I should be grateful.
Reply:I opened mine a year ago, but only used it for the first time 15 hours ago. I got an answer deleted roughly an hour later.

Personally, I still stick to my assertion that the best way for a parent to stop their 14 year old daughter from hitting them is to give them a good dicking, but Yahoo! disagrees.

Technically you beat me (as I technically have had the account for a year), but I claim a moral victory.
Reply:I hold the record...

I opened (and this is the only time I did it) - an account called Eugene Terreblanche (as a joke to counteract all the BOB MUGABE'S that were showing up) on a Saturday night and I had the account deleted by Monday afternoon...

To add - I posted answers (all three of them) no different to what I usually do - but clearly the sight of ET upsets some users....

Now if I created an account called "Julius Malema" or any other Black person who HATES WHITES - do you think it would have been deleted as quickly?
Reply:Sorry, Cat - Bob's newest incarnation got three including two deleted questions within about fifteen hours! I'm very proud of him! But you are trying hard, and with practice, I hope you will beat him easily!

Cakes, that's also right. I think that was Bob 3. I've lost count!

How much does closing a credit card account accutually hurt your credit?

My husband has a Sears card that has a horrible APR. The balance was recently paid off, but with this rate, we will always owe something on it. (Like a couple bucks.) We'd rather close the account than keep paying a couples buck every month on a card he will never use again.

People have told me closing accounts hurts your credit. But how bad? And I'd really rather close it than deal with the hassle of it.

Just trying to make an informed decision. Thanks.
How much does closing a credit card account accutually hurt your credit?
This is what makes up your score:

1. Payment history- 35%

2. Total debt owed to available credit ratio-30%

3. Length of time establishing credit-15%

4. Types of credit established-10%

5. Inquiries and New accounts-10%

With that said, closing an account affects factors 1-4. It reduces the active payment history on your open accounts, decreases the available credit, giving the appearance that you're borrowing more than your capable of borrowing, it also shortens the average age of accounts, which if this card's been open a long time, it gives the appearance that you're inexperienced with credit.

My suggestion would be to:

A. Keep the card open after it's paid down and only make SMALL purchases($20/max) and pay it off on time every month. This way, the account is showing activity which builds credit WITHOUT getting charged boatloads of interest in the process.

or...

B. Open another CC with the same limit as the Sears Card or increase the limit on another one of his credit cards to match the credit limit that he will lose if he did close the account. Even though it would shorten the average age of accounts and payment history, at least he can maintain his utilization ratio(debt to avail credit).

Hope this helps

Good luck!
Reply:Just keep the card open and pay off the balance in full every month. Information on the Sears cc: http://www.creditcardassociate... Report Abuse

Reply:http://www.searscardnow.info Report Abuse

Reply:Unless your card has some type of annual fee, which I've never heard of with a Sears card, you can owe a couple bucks every month. Regardless of the APR, if your balance is $0, then there can be no interest.

If you do close your card, it won't make your credit score drop 100 points, but it does limit your available funds.
Reply:If you are only paying a couple bucks a month, I don't think it's an annual fee. You are paying on the balance on your card from the previous month. The only way to really stop it would be to send in a few extra dollars to ensure there is no balance.

Check to make certain you are not paying any other fees. If so then by all means cancel the card.

But as your research has shown, you will experience a small drop. I can't say for certain without looking at your whole picture. For example if you have several cards, canceling one will not effect it much. But if that is your only card you are wiping your your entire credit history, and taking your score with it.

If possible do not cancel the card. If you do, just sit tight for about 6 months and your score should restore itself. As long as you are not planning any major purchases within that time it won't matter.

How do I transfer money from one account to another?

I would prefer to do it online. I need to transfer money from my tcf account to my chase account, but I don't know how.
How do I transfer money from one account to another?
Set up an online account with both, if you don't already have one. All you need to do is set up an automatic payment from TCF to Chase, from one site or the other. You will need your account information for both, inluding routing number if the TCF account is a checking account.

Or simply call Chase and ask to make a payment over the phone. Either way it could take up to 3-5 days for it to go through. And they might charge you to do it over the phone, but it doesn't hurt to ask!
Reply:I do not know what a tcf account is but if you have online banking with both places you can. If not, I would physically close one account and send it snail mail or in person to the other.

Phone your irish bank and ask them to set up your online banking facility. Then go online and follow the relevant fund transfering options.
Reply:If you are in EIRE its international transfer (Euro - Pound) and your bank will charge a fee for it.

If its northern Ireland (Pound - Pound) then it would be chaps transfer which again has a fee. You could also send it by standing order/ one off payment if you are in Northern Ireland which is free.

The best ideas we have so far are Abbey/Bradford %26amp; Bingley which do 4% but with monthly deposits necessary. SAGA have one at 3.5%.

Any recommendations please... Thank you!
What is the best fixed rate savings account currently available?
Don't be swayed by answers that are really adverts in disguise. (see above).

Check out fixed rate bonds on the Net. Make sure that it is covered by the FSCS Financial services compensation scheme. This means that if the building society goes bust, and none can claim total security these days, although they all will, the British Government guarantees your money up to 拢50,000.

ICICI Supersave has the best rate today. They are covered by the FSCS but they are an Indian Bank, and if the Indian government offer a higher protection, they must pull out of the British protection. This is a worry as any guarantee is only as strong as the government that gives it.

For complete peace of mind go for one of the big names.

What can people do with my bank account details?

Hi,

I would like to offer someone I know to send some money to my bank account. However I don't want to risk them being able to access my account. I'm just wondering if I send them my sort code and account number etc. what can they do?

People never give their details out over the phone, there must be a reason?
What can people do with my bank account details?
With those two things they can withdrawl money from your account electronically. You should never give that info out ever. If someone wants to wire money to your checking account, have their bank call and get the required information so they can never see it.

An even better option is western union. It costs the same as a wire transfer and it is much safer for you.
Reply:Open up a Paypal account, have it linked to your bank account and have them send the money through that way. I've been using Paypal for years and have never had issues with security sending or receiving funds.

What is the cause for tax payable account?

What might be the reasons for the tax payable account? Why don't the company pay the tax right away but have to wait for some time and pay it in the future? Deferred tax asset result from an excess of tax payable over income tax expense. Does it mean the company paid tax more than it should have paid? I just got a bit confused of it. How could this siutation happen in real life? Could you explain it to me by giving the example? Thank you very much.
What is the cause for tax payable account?
The IRS dictates how and when businesses turn in the tax money they collect from the employees' paychecks. Depending on how much you collect, you are either a weekly, semimonthly, monthly or quarterly depositer. Most are monthly. In order to make the IRS bookkeeping easier, they would rather you pay one lump sum each month instead of every time you write a paycheck. Especially since if you made a mistake and had to rewrite a check you would have to change the deposit. it is much easier to just make one monthly deposit. Deferred tax asset resulting from an excess of payable over expense means you paid too much taxes in, but rather than receiving a refund you just get credit toward the next payment. it happens on a fairly regular basis. each business has it happen at least once in their life.

How is the interest of a savings account calculated?

I am going to open a saving account soon, and I really don't understand the whole interest thing. The bank offers and 0.5% interest rate. It is compounded daily. Let's say I put $1000 in the account tomorrow. When will I actually see the interest in my account, and how much would it be. Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks!
How is the interest of a savings account calculated?
The interest will be computed on a daily basis, and you'll earn interest on the previous day's interest (i.e. "compounded daily"). The bank will credit your account the interest on a monthly basis. The 0.5% interest rate is an annual number, so you will have to calculate the amount for a daily basis. Here's the quick math for your daily interest on $1000:

Day1: 1000 * 0.005 / 365 = 0.0137

Day2: (1000 + Day1) * 0.005 / 365 = 0.0137

In general terms, the formula for calculating interest for "n" days on your $1000 at 0.5% is:

n days of interest = 1000 * (((1 + 0.005 / 365) ^ n) - 1)

*Response to Taranto (below):

Regarding the use of 360 or 365 for computing interest, check with your bank on how they do the math. The "Actual/360" accrual that Taranto mentions is used to compute interest accruals on money market rates. However, the following is an excerpt from JPMorgan Chase's Web site on compounding:

"Banks and financial institutions routinely use compounding to pay you a higher interest rate. For example, a bank may be offering a CD that pays interest at 10%. If the bank does not compound interest, you will receive 10 percent of your investment as interest income at the end of a year. But if the bank compounds interest every three months (quarterly compounding), you will earn an interest rate of 10.38%. If the bank compounds interest monthly, you will earn 10.47%. And if it compounds daily, you will earn 10.52%."

http://partners.leadfusion.com/tools/cha...

In the daily compounding example, if you use 360 you get 10.67%, and if you use 365 you get 10.52% (both rounded to 0.01%).
Reply:The other folks have answered how the interest is calculated. I would offer another bit of advice. You should research and open a high-yield savings account. These accounts pay anywhere from 4-5% interest on deposited money. A couple of examples are HSBCDirect, INGDirect, EmigrantDirect.

With these internet banks, you open a savings account that's linked to your existing checking account (you can stick with your regular bank for checking so you don't have to change checks, debit cards, etc). You can transfer funds back and forth between you're regular bank and your high-yield savings account.

Your $1000 would get you approximately $4.17 per month compared to the $.41 another poster wrote....much better return on your money.
Reply:None of the calculations above are exactly right.

It is true that banks often deposit the interest monthly -- but it is calculated using daily balances. The formula is a little odd -- sometimes referred to as Actual/360 accrual. The money is compounded using actual days -- but the interest rate used is the yearly rate divided by 360 -- not 365.

To find your future value after compounding, use the following formula:

F = A * (1+R/360)^N

F = future value

A = amount invested

R = yearly rate

N = actual number of days invested.
Reply:The bank will calculate and deposit your interest once a month. The bank will determine your average balance for the month, and then multiply it by .5%, and then divide by 12 (for 12 months; you make .5% a year total). I assume that this is an interest-bearing checking account. A saving account should pay considerably more, at least 1 or 2%.

Consider that a paypal account pays over 5%, with no fees.
Reply:It's usually deposited monthly. The interest in the example you describe would be approximately $0.41 monthly.
Reply:usually payed monthly, the more you have the more interest you will get so your account will keep growing if you don't spend too much and make sure you put some in every now and then.

That means the youtube team has suspended the user's account for violating the terms and conditions of the Community Guidelines and Terms of Service. Once this happens, the suspension is permanent and they will never be able to get their account back and create new ones. There is no appeal process at all, period.
